Mr. Tom Houlahan
Mr. Tom Houlahan is a retired Police Sergeant who spent the bulk of his Law Enforcement career with the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department. Mr. Houlahan began his police career in the New York City Police Department in April, 1990 and transferred to the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department in January, 1993.
Mr. Houlahan became the Town of Mamaroneck Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Officer in October of 1998, and received certification as a School Resource Officer shortly after. Police Officer Houlahan was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Patrol Division in August of 2003, while still teaching the D.A.R.E. program part-time until 2007.
Mr. Houlahan received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Iona College in 2008 and retired from the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department in August of 2010.
"Sarge" has been the Law Enforcement teacher at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES since September of 2010.
Since 2010, many former P/NW BOCES Law Enforcement students have begun careers in First Responder fields such as the NYPD and other Police Departments throughout the country. Other graduates are enjoying careers as Firefighters, Corrections Officers, EMT's, 911 Operators, and various branches of Military Service.
