Welcome to the Health Academy! We are the instructors for the New Visions Health program and the Nursing Assisting programs here at the Tech Center.  It's our pleasure to help students explore the possibility of a nursing career or other health careers as a high school junior or senior.

Nursing assisting for the long term care facilities prepares students to take the Prometric certification exam in June. As a Certified Nursing Assistant,  you will be able to learn basic nursing skills and care for residents in long-term care facilities.  Our students have worked in various nursing homes in the Westchester and Putnam area nursing homes. Many of our graduates have gone on to pursue a career in nursing.

New Visions Health is a senior honors career exploratory course in health care. Our  students study Structure and Function of the Human Body. Medical Terminology and Diversified Health Occupations. Our students have the opportunity to earn college credit from Mercy College and /or SUNY @ WCC in Politics in America, English and Medical Terminology. Over the course of the school year, students at New Vision Health are able to explore various health careers at Northern Westchester Hospital or New York Presbyterian Hospital at Hudson Valley Hospital.  If you are thinking about a career in health care, this program is an excellent opportunity to explore the different career opportunities in a local hospital.
