Miss Cat
Hello All!
Believe it or not, I'm a PNW Boces alumni! In fact, my career working with animals began when I enrolled in the New Visions Environmental Science program. During this program, I began an internship at Greenburgh Nature Center where I worked directly with hundreds of animals including various birds of prey, large reptiles, and more. After graduating high school, I moved to Hawaii where I gained years of experience as a veterinary technician. Upon moving back to New York, I became a staffing director for a lifeguard company where I employed thousands of teenagers and helped them navigate their way through the struggles of their first job. While my career working with animals was put on hold during this time, I continued to pursue my passion of helping animals through various volunteer opportunities. I returned to Greenburgh Nature Center with a focus on training red tailed hawks for handling, I spent many weekends working with the Boy Scouts of America to GPS and clear trails for the Ten Mile River Scouts camp upstate (and even got to name a lookout point after my dog, Paulele), and worked with countless new pet owners to help them train their new furry friends.
With all of that said, it only feels natural to be back where my journey began, ready and excited to share knowledge with those like myself who are passionate about caring for all types of animals.
PS. I would also like to give a shoutout to my teaching assistant, Pau. He may be lazy (he's still on island time) but he does get the job done.
