MEDICAL ASSISTANT
MEDICAL ASSISTANTS are the most versatile allied health professionals working side-by- side with doctors in a medical office, clinic, or hospital. Medical Assistants are in demand and are one of the nation's fastest growing occupations according to the USBLS.
This broad program includes "Hands-On" activities teaching you skills you need to work in doctor's offices, clinics, and hospitals. You will be cross-trained to perform clinical and administrative duties, making you even more marketable to employers, and setting you apart!
Our ON-SITE SIMULATED DOCTOR'S OFFICE allows students to train for real-world experience as you prepare for your future career.
Students have the opportunity to intern in a variety of healthcare settings ranging from doctor's offices in areas like pediatrics, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, and various clinics.
You have the choice of a one year or two year program. Students completing their second year can qualify to become CERTIFIED CLINICAL MEDICAL ASSISTANTS.
The program provides for specific college credits, and provides you many options when it comes to getting a job or going on to college.
College credits include 3 credits for Nutrition; 3 credits for Medical Terminology; 2 credits Health and Fitness. Students can also enroll in the Boces English Program for an additional 6 college credits.
