•  Welcome to AP Calculus AB

    • This course isprimarily concerned with developing the students' understanding of concepts ofcalculus, and providing experience with its methods and applications.  This Calculus AB course is designed to enablestudents to appreciate the relevance of calculus in the engineering field byapplying the theory to class engineering projects. This course providesstudents an approach to calculus, with concepts, results, and problems beingexpressed geometrically, numerically, algebraically, and verbally. This classwill prepare students in differential and integralcalculus. These topics are the focus of the AP Exam.

    Technology

Throughout the course, classroom demonstrations are done using the TI-84/Plus Calculator silver edition.Every student will have a calculator in class as a tool to solve book’sproblems.  Each student must be able touse the calculator’s commands to graph a function, find roots and points ofintersection of functions, numerical derivatives, and approximate definiteintegrals. Students are required to use the calculator as a tool to understandkey calculus concepts.
