**This is a 4 hour class offered to seniors after completing Sports Medicine I**
Course Description
The student will explore all the careers associated with the field of "Rehabilitation". This will span from aides, to assistants, PT's, OT's, Physiatrists, Orthopedics, Chiropractors, Cardiac and stroke rehab specialists and degrees ranging from certifications, to associates, bachelors, masters, and doctorates.
In this course the students will also be prepared to enter the workforce as a physical therapy aide. In addition the student will be able to work as an aide in an occupational or chiropractic rehabilitative setting as well.
The class will also expand on the knowledge of rehabilitation techniques used by specialists in the field along with a deeper understanding of other important and relevant health care topics that one should be exposed to before entering into the healthcare industry.
The student will also study medical terminology which will broaden their horizons in health care.
During the second half of the course the student will be entering into an internship of their choosing in either a hospital, rehabilitation, radiology, or health & fitness facility to observe professionals in the setting.
Expectations
Students will complete assignments in a timely fashion, follow through with coordinating internship opportunities, and conduct themselves as professionals in class as well as internship.
